Let's go. Hey guys, welcome to Primetime Crime. It's Kylie. I am still sick, as evidenced by my voice, and we're going to see how this goes because I will probably have to stop quite often and get my voice back. So I decided that instead of doing a Monday episode where I have to fully research and do all of the things, I am just going to go through the Long Island serial killer documents. He was brought up on two additional murder charges on Thursday, So we are going to go ahead and read through some of those documents together, because, let me tell you, it is freaking wild. The way that I just sat there watching the press conference completely and totally shook by everything that has come out, I cannot even imagine. So they indicted Rex Huerman on two additional murder charges murder in the second degree for the death of Jessica Taylor on or about between July twenty one and July twenty six of two thousand and three, and murder in the second degree for the death of Sandra Castilla on or about November nineteenth through twenty of nineteen ninety three. Nineteen ninety three completely shook me and took me by surprise because that means that he at least has been killing since nineteen ninety three, potentially earlier. I just cannot even imagine. Okay, we're going to talk about the two thousand and three and eleven discovery of the human remains of Jessica Taylor Honor. About July twenty six, two thousand and three, an individual whose identity is known to law enforcement as Witness one, was walking his or her dog just west of Halsey Manor Road, Manorsville, Sulfolk County, New York. At the time. Witness one observed what appear to be human remains, which prompted him or her to call nine one one. Upon arrival, members of SCPD observed the remains of a female letter identified as Jessica Taylor. Miss Taylor was found lying on her back with her legs beed underneath her. Notably, the victim was decapitated and both of the Miss Taylor's arms had been severed from her body below her elbows. Moreover, a tattoo on the victim's torso had been severely obliterated by a sharp object. Investigators believed the mutilation of the victim's tattoo, decapitation of her head, and dismemberment of Miss Taylor's arms were acts perpetrated by Rex Huerman to inhibit the identification of the victim via facial recognition, fingerprints, and or tattoo identification. During the initial investigation in Manorville in two thousand and three, the victim's head, arms and hands were not found at the scene, and their location remained unknown to law enforcement for approximately eight years. On March twenty nine, twenty eleven, Miss Taylor's skull, hands, and forearm were discovered along Ocean Parkway just east of Gilgo Beach. Notably, Miss Taylor's remains were located on the same side of the road from where Marie Bernard Barnes, Melissa Barthelmy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello had been found just several months prior. In December of twenty ten, Each of the four Gilgo Beach victims, as well as the skull, hands, and forearms of Miss Taylor, were recovered on the same side of the road and at a depth within fifty feet from the edge of the parkway. Furthermore, Miss Taylor's remains were located less than a mile from where the Gilgo four were discovered. Jessica Taylor was last seen honor about July nineteenth, two thousand and three, in New York City. The investigation to date has established that in July two thousand and three, she was working as a sex worker in the area of Midtown, Manhattan. On July twenty first to two thousand and three, at approximately eight forty one pm, Miss Taylor utilized her cellular phone to speak to her mother. Based on witness interviews and an analysis of telephone records, the Gilgo Homicide Task Force learned that the two spoke for approximately seven minutes. During that call, Miss Taylor arranged to visit with her mother on July twenty fifth, to two thousand and three for her mom's birthday. Less than two hours later, at approximately ten to twenty two pm, the Taylor phone placed an outgoing call, which lasted approximate two minutes. Thereafter, the Taylor phone records revealed no fur their outgoing calls or accepted incoming calls. Honor about July twenty fifth, two thousand and three, when her daughter failed to arrive at her residence or answer any phone calls, Miss Taylor's mother notified law enforcement. At the time of Miss Taylor's disappearance. Rex A. Huerman worked in the same vicinity as to where Miss Taylor's was known to street walk i E work as a sex worker. Record sees during the execution of prior search warr ands reveal Huerman was in fact present in midtown Manhattan on July twenty first, two thousand and three, the same date Miss Taylor disappeared on July twenty six, two thousand and three, and in the days thereafter, members of the SCPD canvas the area surrounding Halsey Manor Road, Manorville, in the vicinity of where Miss Taylor's remains had been found. As a result, investigator spoke with witnesses who had on July twenty fifth, two thousand and three, at approximately ten thirty pm, observed a dark colored Chevallery pickup backed into the same wooded area where Miss Taylor's body was later found. Based upon their investigation, law enforcement determined that these observations would have occurred approximately thirteen hours before witness one's nine to one one call. Notably, the investigation to date has established that defendant Huerman purchased a two thousand and two dark colored Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck Honor, about March twenty second, two thousand and two, from Rampchevy in Port Jefferson Station, New York. Accordingly, on July twenty fifth, two thousand and three, at ten thirty pm, Defendant Huerman would have been in possession of a vehicle matching the description of the one observed in the vicinity of where Miss Taylor's remains had been found on Halsey Manor Road. A forensic analysis of Huerman's digital devices also revealed the following that Honor about July twenty eight, two thousand and three, Huerman accessed a news Day article entitled Cops seek help iding Manorville body regarding the discovery of Miss Taylor's human remains. That online activity was subsequently deleted Honor about July twenty nine, two thousand and three, Huerman conducted an Internet search for a new Chevy Avalanche, despite his two thousand and two Avalanche being just over a year old. The analysis further shows Huerman also attempted to delete his search for a new vehicle. Notably, this activity occurred just days after miss Taylor was discovered, and just days after witnesses observed a vehicle matching the physical description of hue Women's leaving the scene. I don't understand why these serial killers, or anyone who's committing crimes like this in general, think that you can Google search something and look something up, and click on something and delete it and it goes away. It stays on your device forever and ever and ever, and if law enforcement needs to trace something, they are going to be able to trace it. You're not smarter than the Internet. Finally, while the make and model of the vehicle hu Wermans search for is the same as this two thousand and two vehicle, the exterior color is different. I e. Arrival Blue as well as Summit White, which are significantly brighter exterior paint offerings by Chevy when compared to his dark green two thousand and two Chevy Avalanche. During the course of the investigation. Miss Taylor's body was examined by a forensic scientist and it revealed that she had been decapitated, dismembered at her arms below her elbows, and revealed irregular disruption of the victim's nipples and the obliteration of her tattoo. During the examination of her body, a male human hair was recovered, specifically from a surgical drape that had been underneath the victim. A subsequent examination of the male hair underneath tailor led to the determination that it was a human hair with Caucasian European characteristics. It was based on the DNA file testing capacities and at that time it was unsuitable for further DNA testing Honor. About August twenty fourth of two thousand and three, the Gilgo Homicide Task Force brought a cutting of the male hair underneath tailor to an outside forensics lab which specializes in forensic miochondrial analysis Honor. About February first, twenty twenty four, Forensic Lab Number two issued a report concluding that the myochondrial DNA profile developed from the male hair underneath tailor and the profile developed from defendants buckle swab are the same specifically at a rate that would exclude ninety nine point ninety six of the North American population as a contributor of said hair recovered underneath the decapitated and dismembered remains of Jessica Taylor. While ninety nine point ninety six of the North American population can be excluded as the contributor of the hair, defendant Humerman cannot be excluded as the contributor of said hair recovered underneath the remains of Jessica Taylor. Basically, the chances of this hair belonging to that of Rex Huerman is like an astronomical amount. As part of the ongoing investigation, the Gilgo Homicide Task Force also established that Huerman's wife and children were out of the state at the time of Miss Taylor's disappearance and murder, a consistent theme attributed to the defendant for each of the charged homicides thus far, which would have allowed the defendant unfetter time and opportunity to execute these crimes. That's the interesting thing about rex Is is every single one of his crimes thus far has occurred when his family was not in town. They were traveling doing whatever. He stayed behind for quote unquote work reasons, and he was committing these crimes, and committing these crimes inside of the humor and home and then dumping and disposing the bodies. The way that that house is probably littered with evidence against this man, I cannot even imagine the evidence. They were there recently, probably gathering evidence on these additional two murders, and I just can't even imagine the amount of evidence that they have on him. So far. They have piles and piles and piles of evidence just from what has been released, and I know there's a lot that they're holding back as well. The case that they're building against Rex is astronomically insane. Specifically, in two thousand and two two thous and three, defendant Huerman's daughter, Victoria, was a kindergarten student at the McKenna Elementary School located in Massapequa Park, New York. At this time, Victoria was classmates with an individual whose identity is also known to law enforcement as Witness two. Based on post arrest interviews with witness including Witness two, family, and Victoria Huerman, the Go Go Homicide Task Force has learned that at the conclusion of the kindergarten school year, Miss Ellerup, who is Rex's wife, and her two children vacation with Witness two's family from on or about July twentieth, two thousand and three, through or on about July twenty seven, two thousand and three, at Smuggler's Notch Resort, which is located in Jeffersonville, Vermont, and Rex did not attend this trip. These witness accounts have been corroborated via phone records and electronic data seized during the execution of the July twenty twenty three search warrants. For example, agents of the Guilt Go Homicide Task Force seized A and T AT records which detail calls made to and from the Humorman residence in July of two thousand and three. These records show that during the aforementioned family vacation, the landline telephone associated with the Humorman residence, which was located at one oh five First Avenue, made several phone calls to a telephone number bearing an A TOO two AERO code. Further investigation has tied this phone number to Smuggler's Notch Resort. Thus, investigators believe defendant Huerman made these calls from the residence to his family staying in Jeffersonville, Vermont. There is also several calls that Rex Huerman's work landline makes to the smuggler's Notch resort in Vermont between July twentieth and July twenty seventh of two thousand and three. Finally, in July twenty twenty three, the Go Go Homicide Task Force sees a hard drive from the basement of the residence. It's an extraction analysis of that hard drive reveal that it contained a Palm pilot backup file which appeared to contain Rex's date book or calendar for the relevant dates. The gilgohamis I Task for subsequently hired a digital forensics expert who utilized native Palm software was able to convert the above data into readable format, and you can see that starting Sunday July twentieth of two thousand and three all the way to Sunday July twenty seventh of two thousand and three, he has an entry in there that's his wife in Vermont at smugs for each of those days, which further proves that the family was out of town when he committed the heinous acts against Jessica Taylor, killed her, dumped her body, and seemingly went on like he was just a normal city working man. Okay, now we're going to move on to the nineteen ninety three discovery of Sandra Castilla Honor. About November twentieth, nineteen ninety three, two individuals, while hunting in a wooded area of Southampton in the vicinity of fifty Old Fish Cove Road, north Sea, Suffolk County, New York, discovered the remains of Sandra Castilla date of birth eight twenty five, nineteen sixty five. The victim, who had been twenty eight years old at the time, was lying on her back with her arms outstretched over her head, with her uncovered legs spread apart. The victim's shirt had been pulled up over her torso and head, exposing the victim's breasts. The victim had numerous sharp force injuries to her face, torso, breasts, left bygh and vaginal area. She was a native of Trinidad and Tobago, but had been living in New York prior to her disappearance and murder. During the course of the nineteen ninety three investigation, Miss Castillo's body was examined by a forensic scientist, which led to the discovery of three hairs from the victim's remains, one from the victim's right arm, one from a tape lift of the striped shirt above the victim's head, as well as one from the tape lift of the white shirt above the victim's head. In twenty fourteen, well before the identification of Huerman as a suspect in her murder, the hairs on her were sent to the forensic Lab Number two, which was able to develop unique miochondrial DNA profiles for each of the hairs on Castilla. On or about August first, twenty fourteen, Forensic Lab number two received an extract of John Bittroff's buckle swab. Forensic Laboratory number two was then able to develop a mitochondrial DNA profile from John Bittrof's buckle swab and subsequently compared it to the myochondrial DNA profiles that had been previously generated for each of the hairs on Castilla. At the conclusion of the analysis, Forensic Lab number two was able to exclude John and Initially, when it came out that they were charging Recks in the murder of Sandra, everyone was shocked because they thought that John was like the key primary suspect, and that he was the one who was involved and all along it was Rex. Recently, the Gogo Homicide Task Force requested Forensic Lab Number two undergo forensic testing, specifically comparing myochondrial DNA profiles for each of the hairs on Castilla which had been developed back in twenty fourteen prior to Humorman emerging as a suspect in her murder. On February twenty ninth, twenty twenty four, Forensics Lab two issued a report concluding that the myochondrial DNA profile developed from a mere male hair on Castilla and the profile developed from defendants buckle swab are the same, specifically at a rate that would exclude in ninety nine point ninety six of the North American population, i e. It's Rex's hair, Rex's DNA, tying him to the murder of Sandra. Prior to Miss Castilla's disappearance and murdered, defended, Humerman had been living with the female individual whose identity is known to law enforcement as Witness three. During the course of the investigation, the Go Go Homicide Task Force was able to secure a vocal swab from Witness IREE, which was secured via her consent. On or about March twenty ninth, twenty twenty four, the Go Go Homicide Task Force brought a DNA extract of Witness three's buckle swab to Forensic Lab two for further analysis. On or about May eight, twenty twenty four, they issued a rapport concluding that the miochondrial DNA profile from Witness three's buckle swab and the profile developed from the female hair on Castilla Cherry common base at all compared positions, specifically a rate that would exclude ninety nine point nine to eight of the North American population as contributor of said hair recovered on the mutilated remains of Sandra Castilla. This is wild to me. He obviously had the victims at his home and killed them at the home, attacked, killed them, dismembered them. Whatever he did, he did all at the home, and then he took the bodies and discarded them. So the fact that there are six victims as of right now, there are many more. I'm sure six victims as of right now. Most of them have his hair on them or evidence DNA evidence on them, but there are a few that also have this other random DNA evidence, DNA evidence of his wife, DNA evidence of this random other witness, this woman that he was living with, DNA evidence of his daughter, because he did it at the home. So the fact that they're living in this home, they go away on Vaca. He commits these crimes in the home. Their bodies are picking up this DNA because it's happening in the home, and then they're dumped and your DNA is tied to these bodies. I just cannot even imagine. Now we're going to talk a little bit about the Witness U three that I talked about earlier. As noted, based on posterrest interviews with the witnesses, the Gilgohamicite Task Force learned that Witness three and defendit Humerman began living together at the residence in nineteen ninety one. In September of nineteen ninety three, approximately two months before Miss Castilla's disappearance and murder, Witness three moved out of the residence. Prior to Witness three leaving the residence, Huerman's mother had moved out of the residence, meaning that Witness three and Rex Huerman's mother had moved out and we're not living at the residence at the time of Sander's murder. Accordingly, the murders of all four charge victims, and now the murders of Miss Taylor and Miss Castilla occurred at times when defended. Huerman would have had unfetter time to execute his plans for each victim without any fear that his family or others residing at the house would uncover or learn of his involvement in these crimes. Now we're going to talk about newly discovered digital evidence, as detailed in Exhibit A. Following Huerman's arrests numerus search warrants were executed at the residence, which culminated in the seizure of over three hundred and fifty electronic devices in months subsequent to his arrest, the Gilgo Homicide Task Force attempting to extract an analyzed data from each of these devices. I really should have put a trigger warning on this whole episode. I'll probably go back and add it to the beginning. Excuse me, but trigger warning for what I'm about to talk about. An analysis of these devices revealed Hureman's significant collection of violent bondage and torture pornography, currently dating back to nineteen ninety four. The pornographic images accessed by Huerman included, but not limited to, breast mutilation, vaginal torture, sex substitution, the sexualization of decapitated women, bondage, and whipping, which notably and largely coincide with how the remains of Sandra Castilla, Jessica Taylor, and Valerie Mac were discovered. Valerie Mac, I believe is coming up now. I think that is going to be his next charge is for Valerie Mac. She was found in the same area, same memo. It's coming. We just got to give it time. Moreover, during the analysis of a hard drive covered from the basement of Hureman's residents, the Gilgo Homicide Task Force frecently discovered a microsoftware document entitled HK two thousand and two to two thousand and four. This document was discovered in unallocated space. Allocated space refers to stored data that a computer is using. The files are viewable when they are opened by the user. On the other hand, unallocated space reverse to available or unstructured data, which is not readily viewable and able to be opened by the user. Unallocated space frequently contains room for new data or old data that has been deleted sent to the recycling bin, overwritten, etc. For example, when a user deletes data, many users believe the file has been perched forever. However, deleting a file tells the computer that the space previously occupied for that file by that file is now available. The deleted data will remain an unallocated space until another file is written over it. Data contained with an unallocated space can be retrieved via a computer forensic extraction method called file carving. Obviously, Rex didn't know that because all of this lovely data is available now. A forensic analysis of the document reveals that it was not only a locally created draft, but also recovered from a hard drive that indicates that it was utilized by Heuerman himself. While the original document appears to have been created in two thousand based on its original title HK two thousand slash three, it was later changed to two thousand and two to four, it appears to have been created and modified between two thousand and one and two thousand and two. And this document is essentially what they call a planning document, and it was utilized by Racks to methodically blueprint and plant out his murders, and we're going to talk about some of the things on this list. This is actual insanity to me that they have this evidence, okay problems, DNA, tire marks, bloodstains, fingerprints, plastic bag, cat litter, witnesses, trace, source of supplies, foot shoe prints, photos, question mark misleaders, question mark police stop, truck stuck, fingerprints in gloves, plastic bags, match two box, hair and fiber supplies, booties, lye, acid, police scanner, ropechord, saw, cutting tools, hairnets, photofilm, burncan, foam, drain cleaner, body washes, wipes, tarps, drop clothes, medical gloves, bags, tape, large electric clips, ratchet, cargo strap, and then he says DS, which is stands for dumb site, So it says dumb site, dumpsite one, mill road dump site two, question mark dumpster site next time reconsider dumpster locations. And then there is a tab that says TRG, which is target one T one Megan, question marks small as good, which they believe that all of Rex's victims are significantly smaller women, so they think that that's what that means, like target small women. Then he has tabs. One of them is called pre prep and they believe this to be a guide of steps on how to take in advance of a homicide, inspecting the vehicle, engaging the target, conducting a recon or survey a video, surveillance cameras, impertinent areas. And then there's also a prep tab which has set up stage, holding area, build table, crossbar, hard point, and then post event destroy and he spills to destroy ds TROI, he's an idiot. Destroy file, change tires, burn gloves, dispose of picks, have story set this guy is a deranged human like this is honestly so wild to me. Then there's also take down, pick up hunt too long, seen an area too long. Remember don't charge gas meaning don't use your debit or credit card when you go to get gas. Recon for videocams and pickup area. Next time body prep this is wild. Wash body inside and all cavities, Remove trace evidence, fingerprints, hair, remove trace, DNA, remove ID marks, tattoo marks, remove marks from torture, Remove head and hands, package for transport. Dispose of the following tools and devices. T one clothes and personal items, drop gloss, wipes and towels, props, toys and wood items, anything that touched what you wore, Destroy book and computer files again he spells destroyer wrong, burn gloves, dispose of box of plastic bags to avoid trace. If the DNA evidence wasn't incriminating enough, all of this stuff is so incriminating because of the way that he has written everything out and that coincides with the things that he does. He removes their head, he removes their hands. He tries to avoid identification via any tattoos that they have, so he takes care of those. It is actual insanity to me that they have all of this evidence on this man. Things to remember sound travels i e. Bird outside, control the amount of air in and out, to control the noise made. Get sleep before hunt. Too tired, creates problems he spelled create crea ts dumb, hit harder, too many hit to take down. Consider a hit to the face or neck. Next time for takedown. More sleep and noise control equals more playtime, basically meaning more torture time. Use pishpins to hang drop cloths from ceiling, not tape. Use heavy spelled h ve y rope for neck lightrope broke under stress of being tightened. Then he goes on to make further notes, spur of the moment, cover question marks, dot Colm syndrome. The more you do, the more clues you give. Look at the painting, what why, who organized versus disorganized? Page one sixty two six substitution page one sixty three, Page one seventy five mutilation disorganized also spelled entirely wrong. So interestingly enough, they have established that the source of some of these notes when he references pages is from the book The mind Hunter paperback book, which was authored by John Douglas, who I just sawt crime Con and this book was pub first edition in nineteen ninety six. And of course it's about the profiling of serial killers, because that's what John Douglas does. And honestly, when I think about the way that these women were found, it is very very on point with some of the things that John Douglas talked about at crime Con and how when you have somebody who is a sexual creep and they are a serial killer or a killer in general, and they think of women as less than them, they will leave their bodies in sexually suggestive ways, and that's just part of what they do. And it all makes complete and total sense now that Rex was reading his book mind is actually blown at this point in time. When they did the search warrant in July of twenty twenty three, they found a book in Rex's home office that was the case Is That Haunt Us? Which is by John Douglas. This discovery and all that came out, I am completely and utterly speechless, Like I feel like it has been a really long time since we've had somebody like this amongst us that we know of. Obviously, Rex got away with this for such a long time. I think we have so many more to go. I think he's definitely going to be charged the murder of Valerie Mac. I think we just have to wait for that to come out. But yeah, that is the update going through the documents. Like I said, my mind is officially blown. I didn't think that it could get any crazier than it already was. But the things that we're learning about this guy is really freaking scary. I did hear that his family is not staying at the house. They are staying out of town. Apparently, I can't even imagine. I don't know the ins and outs of everything as far as his wife and kids go. I don't really know a whole lot. I know that his wife was working on doing a peacock documentary. There's like a million dollars allegedly that was being thrown around. I don't know. I can't imagine this happening and disrupting your life in such a huge way where you think that you're normal and then you realize that your husband is a serial killer. I don't know. I also don't feel like Rex is that smart. I feel like, as evidenced by everything that I just talked about, he's obviously not intelligent, but he did get away with this for a super super long time, So maybe he is that methodical and that capable of covering up major homicides for all of those years. I really don't know. It's gonna be interesting to see everything come out and hear their take on the whole thing, because as it stands right now, they are not charged with anything, and there's no even like pending charges against any of them, So as far as I'm concerned, they're victims as well. There is a huge probability that he was able to carry this out and have this stuff go on right underneath their noses and they had no idea, which is really freaking scary. It really shows you that you never know someone at all. No matter how much you think you know them, you don't know them. So that is it for the most recent court docs.
