Missing Mashup: The Unsolved disappearances of Terri Lynn Fregia, Maria Aldridge & Robert Joseph Fritz

Let's talk right now in true crime, and then together we are going to work on warming up some cold cases. Let's go. Hey, guys, welcome back to this week's episode of Primetime Crime. It's Kylie. We are going to go ahead and dive into right now in true crime. We have big breaking news in the Idaho four case, the one who shall not be named with the initials b K. They have officially granted his change of venue request, which man, oh man, it really frustrates me. It irritates me. I understand why they did it. I understand that it's necessary to hopefully avoid any chance of any grounds for an appeal later, but I really hate anything being done to make that individual happy because he is such a hate, heinous human allegedly and yeah, the way that you allegedly committed these crimes was so heinous that it has gotten massive media attention inside of Idaho and outside of Idaho nationwide, and it is going to be hard for you to get a fair jury. I understand that but maybe you shouldn't have committed such a heinous crime allegedly. In my opinion. But now with this change of venue, he was requesting for it to be in Ada County, which is quite far away from where the trial was going to be taking place. And now the families of these four kids, who have already lost so much in their lives and been through so much trauma and stress, now they have to travel quite far in Idaho to even be able to see the proceedings and the trial and everything else. I am beyond frustrated with this whole thing. And I understand there is he does have the right to fair trial. He has a right to an impartial jury. I understand that, but doesn't mean I have to like it, and I don't. I don't like it. I think that he is playing with the emotions of the victims' families and he's trying to pull the strings, and I hate that he got his way. I really really do. I understand it, and I'm almost glad that they did move it just for the fact of I don't want him coming back five years from now after a hopeful conviction and him saying, well, I didn't get a fair trial. Because this juror knew and had a preconceived notion about my guilt. I don't want that, and I think that that is. There's a huge possibility that could happen. So I am glad. I guess that they decided on that. I know the judge took a long time to make that decision, and now seemingly it's going to be a different judge that's going to be presiding. Over this case and this trial. But I will continue to keep you guys updated. On all of that and let you know what transpires in the coming months. Now, moving on Donna Adelson's trial, jury selection is said to begin next week September seventeenth, and Luis Rivera and Catherine Magnanahah have been moved temporarily to Tallahassee because obviously. They're going to be testifying. They are a big part of this case. And I don't know about you guys, but I am literally on the edge of my seat waiting to see what they say, waiting to see if they change anything up, if they flip the script a little bit, because they're already going to prison, They've already been sentenced. They're in prison for life. I cannot wait to see what is going to go down in this trial. I think it is going to be very interesting. I do feel like there is going to be some similarities between Donna's trial and Charlie's trial, but I think it's going to be a lot more focused on the motive and Donna's role in that, and it's gonna be really wild. And crazy to see it all go down. It's also going to be really interesting to see what role Wendy Adelson plays in all of this, and what's gonna happen after the fact. What's going to happen after the verdict comes, and if it is a guilty verdict, what her sentence will be, And what's going to happen to Wendy Aedelson, What's going to happen to Harvey Aedelson. It's going to be a really interesting one to watch unfold. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go listen to my summer series twenty twenty four where I talk about the murder for hire plot to kill Dan Markel, who was married to Donna's daughter, Wendy Aedelson, and there was a whole crew of people that were essentially recruited allegedly by the Adelsons to commit this horrific crime against Dan Markell because he wanted his kids to stay with him and not move to a different part of Florida, and Wendy and her rest of her family wanted the kids to leave that part of Florida and go somewhere else in Florida. That's what this all started about, over custody of two kids who now don't have a father, They don't have an uncle because he's in jail. They currently don't have a grandmother because she's in jail, all because of child custody disputes. It is not freaking worth it. It's not worth it. From everything I've seen and read and heard, Dan Markel was a loving, doting father. He loved his boys, He would do anything for his boys, and he wasn't a bad guy. Just because you divorce somebody doesn't necessarily mean that they're a bad father and a bad person and that they need to be killed. That is never the answer in a situation like this. So it's going to be. So interesting to see how Donna's trial plays out, the different witnesses that are brought in, and it is. Going to be a wild ride, and I will. If there is something that is damning and really interesting that comes up, I will be sure to do a little mini emergency episode or like a weekly recap, because this is. Going to be one for the books, it really is. Okay, last thing I want to talk about, and I have to be so very careful about how I talk about this because this is all breaking news as of right now when I'm recording this. On Wednesday, we are in Cleveland County, North Carolina, and there has been a large search going on since Tuesday afternoon evening into Wednesday. According to the WACTV Channel nine, crews have seen several law enforcement officers with dogs, all terrain vehicles and special equipment on Cherryville Road near Spake Circle. There have been several warrants that have been executed in the county. This property, this area that they have been searching is in the six hundred block of Cherryville Road in Shelby, North Carolina. Now Here is where the lines are kind of blurred. There is a lot, and I mean a lot of speculation that this is tied to. Ashia Degrees missing person's case. And the reason that people are speculating is because it is very close to where a Shaw went missing from. There was a car also linked potentially to her disappearance that had a very distinct and specific look and today on Wednesday, Channel nine obtained a video of authorities towing away a green car from the property that looks very similar to this car. That is why there is so much speculation. There is a ton more speculation. We are not getting into any of that right now until it is confirmed because there is a ton of rumors. The family of Asia has come out and said nothing at this point in time has been confirmed. Please don't more gossip by talking about this on all of the social media platforms. This case has a very big following on Reddit and there's also a Facebook group that has just absolutely blown up in the last twenty four hours. And I debated not even talking. About it, but news stations have made the comparison and have been the ones to bring it up. So that is the only reason that I feel okay even talking about it, because at this point it is just all speculation and could be a very big coincidence. We really don't know, but I am going to continue to stay on top of this one and continue to bring you guys updates as they come in. But I covered Asha's case I think last year, probably around this time, and her case is one that very much sticks with me, and I want her family to get answers one way or another. That is what's most important here, that they get answers and they have resolution in knowing what happened to Asha after all of these years. So I will continue to keep you guys updated on this. It is breaking minute by minute and I will be sure to bring you the latest news. As soon as I hear it and it's confirmed. So with all of that being said, we are going to go ahead and get into this week's episode, which is one of my favorite types of episodes, a mashup episode. Okay, guys, today, I am going to be bringing you another mashup episode. These three cases have nothing to do with one another other than they are all unsolved missing persons cases and they need our attention. I'm going to highlight each of them individually and tell you their stories. They are all equally important and their stories deserve to be told today we're going to be covering the stories of Terry Fregia, Maria Aldridge, and Robert Bobby Fritz. First up, I am going to be telling you about a woman named Terry Lynn Fregia. There isn't a ton of public information about Terry in regards to her childhood or her upbringing, but Terry was from Tarkankton, Texas, in Liberty County. Terry went missing in nineteen eighty nine at the age of twenty four years old. Terry is described as a free spirit and a bit of a rolling stone. She never stayed in one place for long and had ties to a few different places Mississippi, Louisiana, as well as South Caro, Carolina. She was married a couple of times and had three children. At one point in time, she had lived with the father of two of her children in the area of Whole, Texas, which is also in Liberty County. Small town. She was described as extremely attractive, very pretty tall, with dark hair. And blue eyes. She had done some modeling and she had also worked as a dancer at a place called the Tonga Club that was located in Beaumont, Texas, and her niece would go on to describe the Tonga Club as not exactly the nicest place. The circumstances of her disappearance are also pretty vague, but she was kind of bouncing around from place. To place to place. She had left everything behind at her mom's house. She left behind her driver's license, her cat, her car, and her clothes, and her family said it was almost like she went off with someone and then just vanished into thin air. They said that she would leave from time to time, but she would always be in contact with her family in some way or another, and wouldn't just leave and not notify them of where she was or who she was with or what she was doing. Her family reported her missing out of Liberty County, but for whatever reason, it was never officially entered into the database, and it wasn't until twenty thirteen when her niece, Jamie, who was working for a Montgomery County law enforcement agency, was in the process of training a new hire and they had to do some test runs of some database things, and she decided that she was going to run her aunt because she knew that. She was a missing person. So she did run the report and nothing came up. Terry's name was nowhere to be found, and it was right then and there that they discovered that, for whatever reason, she had fallen off and was never officially entered into the database. So it wasn't until Jamie officially reported her missing in twenty thirteen that she was even entered into the database. So at this point, twenty four years had passed, and while the family believed that the whole time she was in the system, she wasn't. So that really is a huge, huge blow to the case and it puts them at a huge disadvantage. Her case is now at the forefront of a man named Brandon Bess, who is a Texas Ranger. He has been investigating the case for the Ranger's Cold Case Division since twenty eighteen. Ranger Bess is quoted as saying, we have tracked her to Mississippi and Louisiana prior to nineteen eighty nine. She was married in Louisiana and had a notary public license out of South Carolina. He said, we have tried to get Social. Security and the IRS to cooperate with our investigation, and the US Rep. Doctor Brian Babin's office tried extensively to help us, but we haven't been able to cut through the federal red tape. We would like to. Know the life last time she paid her taxes or filed a tax return. The year nineteen eighty nine was the last time she was seen by her family, but she may have been alive after that. Brandon said that he believes that she may have went missing while she was in Louisiana, and the reason that the investigation originally originated in Liberty County was because that's where it was first reported. He then went on to say that he himself had interviewed two of her ex husbands, including the one that lived in Louisiana, and they had both confirmed that Terry did have a drug problem and whenever it would kind of flare itself back up, she would end up running off and going somewhere. He believes that something happened to her in Louisiana. She remains missing to this day, and her family at this point does not want to have her declared legally deceased because that would mean that all the hope that Terry is still out there. Would be gone. If you do know anything about this case, call the Ranger's office in the Li County Courthouse at nine three six three three six four six two seven, or contact the Liberty County Sheriff's Office at nine three six three three six forty five hundred. Somebody out there knows what happened to Terry and could have the missing piece of the puzzle that could help her family get closure as to where she is and what happened to her. If Terry was still alive today, she would be fifty nine years old. She could be living under a completely different identity. She could have suffered a mental health crisis. There are so many what ifs and what could be in this type of situation because there isn't a lot known about her disappearance. Who she was hanging around at the time of her disappearance. If she could have met with somebody that didn't have. Great intentions, we really don't know. But there is somebody out there that knows what happened to Terry and could be that piece of the puzzle that is missing. I am going to be sharing images of Terry on my social media on Instagram and on Facebook, so please follow along there so that way we can get Terry's name and face out there and hopefully help bring a clue in that will bring Terry home and bring her family the closure that they so desperately want and need and deserve. Next up, we're going to talk about the disappearance of a woman named Maria Bernadette Aldridge. So Maria disappeared February twenty ninth of nineteen sixty eight when she was only seventeen years old, and she disappeared from Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom. I want to say this is the first UK story that I've done, so this one does have a few twists and turns, and we are going to talk about it. So Maria was a seventeen year old cadet nurse at the time of her disappearance, and she was in her second year of her cadet nursing courses. At this time, the Cadet Nurse Corps was established by the Nurse Training Act of nineteen forty three and they essentially recruited women between the ages of seventeen and thirty five to be trained as nurses. So Maria had decided that this is the route that she wanted to take, and on she went. So during her time as a Cadet nurse in training, she lived at the Old Home Nursing Home at the. Dudley Road Hospital. The records showed that she was there. Until at least May of nineteen sixty eight, but her last contact with her family was February twenty eighth of nineteen sixty eight, via a letter that her mother would later find in two thousand and nine. This letter being found in two thousand and nine very much caused them to relook at the case and officially reopen the case. In this letter, she refers to friends named Sue and Evelyn, who are assumed to be cadet nurses as well, and she refers to individuals I'm going to name them David Olfrey, Patrick McGill, Christopher Fair, and Jim Taylor. Investigators also want to talk to a man who they believed to be named Paul or John Goo, who they think was Maria's boyfriend at the time. So, after Maria went missing from this hospital where she was a cadet nurse in training, her boyfriend went to her mother's house to report that she was missing, and no one knows what happened to him or where he is. Nobody has seen or heard from him. Either, so that is also really bizarre. So Maria's mother Mary and Maria's sister Kathy, upon hearing this news, went to the nurse dormitory to look for Maria and when they got there, they were essentially greeted by the house matron and this person gave them Maria's belongings. Which is very, very bizarre. There was no explanation as to where Maria had gone, where she had went, if anyone knew anything. It was just hears her things and that was it. It's also interesting to note that Maria never collected any of her wages that were owed to her, and if she was going to run off and leave her life behind, you would think that she would want. To take the wages with her that. Were earned and that were hers. There was also an interesting personal ad that was placed in the Birmingham Evening Mail which ran on June first of nineteen sixty eight, and it said Nurse M meet seven pm sixty three bus Monday, June third, hope to see you Simon. So police very. Much believed that this was a clue that would lead them to Maria, kind of thinking that Nurse M must be Nurse Maria, but it ended up not providing any leads. Now, Maria's sister very much believes that it's a possibility that a notorious serial killer couple from England could have been involved in Maria's disappearance. They are a couple named Fred and Rose West, and they lived about fifty miles from where Maria was last seen. Fred ended up being linked to the murder of twelve girls over the span of twenty years, and his wife ended up being convicted of ten of them, including the murder of their own daughter. Their reign of terror wasn't discovered unfortunately, until nineteen ninety four. The bodies of their victims were found buried in the garden concealed in a cellar at their home in England. The home has since been demolished. Their earliest known victim was killed in nineteen sixty seven. And essentially what they would do is they would lure women who were waiting at different bus stops in the area. And when all of this first broke in nineteen ninety four, Maria's mom was one of the first people that thought Maria could have been one of their victims, and she took this to the police in the nineties, but they said that from what they had found, Maria was not likely one of their victims. Kathy, Maria's sister, still believes that the West could be involved and has also heard more rumors over the years that Fred had links to Birmingham, which is where Maria was staying for her nurse training school. Maria's mom, Mary. Died in two thousand and five at the age of ninety three, without ever getting answers as to what happened to her daughter. Fred West ended up committing suicide in prison, and Rose West still is in prison in England. A really interesting story. I do feel like there could be some validity to the fact that the Wests were involved in Maria's murder because the personal ad that was taken out Nurse m it talks about the bus stop. You just never know in a situation like this, when you have a notorious serial killer husband and wife who seemingly blend in if they were able to somehow lore Maria in under false pretenses and then commit this murder. However, her remains were not found amongst those that were found at the West property in England, but that doesn't discount it. There could be a lot more going on than meets the eye, and I think mother's intuition is a pretty strong and powerful one. So I think that Maria's mom first thinking this when she first heard the news of the West's reign of terror in nineteen ninety four. I think her thinking that Maria's death could be tied to it. I think there's some validity to that, and it seems like her sister also. Agrees with that. So I am going to include some pictures of Maria as well as some age progress photos as well. The search for Maria still continues. Her family is still searching for answers, and again, somebody out there knows something about what happened to her. Getting in touch with the people who were in nurse cadet training with her. I think is essential. We have a few names of some people, more just getting in touch with these people to see if they remember anything around that time, if they remember Maria saying anything about going off with anybody or meeting with anyone. Literally, somebody has a smoking gun of a clue in this case, and I hope that law enforcement is able to get with that person and try to figure out what connection they might have to this, so that way Maria's family can have some resolution in her case. Because she was so young and trying to start her life, and literally it was like she vanished into thin air and there wasn't a whole lot of major effort put into figuring out what happened, at least by the place that she was staying. You think that they would. Be a lot more forward with information, but it was a different time. So I don't really know. I don't really know what to think about this one, but I do know that someone out there knows something. Somebody that was around. At that time that might have been somebody that Maria hung around with. Somebody knows a little bit more than is being let on. So that is the story of Maria Aldridge. And this one really just is a head scratcher and leaves me with way more questions than answers, and all of the what ifs and what could have been and what ours. It's really frustrating. I can't imagine how her family feels and her sister is left to try to navigate all of this and try to figure it all out. Okay, the last. Story we are diving into today is the disappearance of Robert Fritz. He went by Bobby or Bobby Joe. He disappeared from Campbell's Port Wisconstant in his neighborhood on May fourteenth of nineteen eighty three. He was only five years old at the time of his disappearance. Bobby was the baby of the family and everyone loved him. His sister also went on to say that Bobby was everyone's favorite. Bobby lived with his mother and four siblings in Wisconsin. His parents had previously gone through a divorce, and his father and two of his other siblings were living in Illinois. Now I'm going to tell you a little bit about the circumstances that surrounded Bobby's disappearance. So Bobby was last seen playing outside in a vacant lot about a half a block away from his home. This vacant lot was located behind one of the siblings friends' homes, so it was essentially. In their backyard. Bobby and his siblings were playing kickball between the hours of two thirty and four thirty PM on May fourteenth of nineteen eighty three. At some point during that time, Bobby had told his family that he was hungry and that he wanted to go home. One of his sisters walked him a little waist down the road, and then from there she saw that they could see the family home from where they were standing, and then she let him go on his way and she went back to finish playing the game that they were playing. They didn't realize what had actually gone on and the severity of what happened until the rest of the children came home and asked where Bobby was. It was then that they all realized that he was missing. That day, Bobby had been also playing with a toy gun and that was also nowhere to be found. The authorities were notified immediately and there was an extensive search that was completed in the area of the Milwaukee River and Mill Pond. No trace of Bobby was ever found. However, they did find that missing toy gun that Bobby was playing with that was eventually found, but it was essentially like Bob had literally just vanished into thin air. Police did believe that Bobby going missing. Was a high likelihood that he was likely. Abducted by somebody. Later on in the eighties, a man named Michael Scott Menzer who was brought up as a person of interest. He was actually convicted of. Child sex crimes along with arson and murder in the death of two of his stepchildren They ended up getting a search warrant and they searched his home, which led them to find some interesting things. They found a calendar with the date of May fourteenth highlighted, which was the day that Bobby went missing. They also found photos of little boys along with an article about Bobby's disappearance. They found decayed remnants of clothes and also some small bones, but they were unable to determine if the bones were human. Now, this was the eighties, Things were a heck of a lot different back then when it came to forensics and crime scene examination at all. Of that, Michael had lived alone at the Waldo Mill, which was a historic building that was located fifteen miles outside of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. And this was less than twenty miles away from Campbell'sport, Wisconsin, which is where Bobby went missing from. So this definitely was in close proximity to where Bobby went missing from. And I can definitely see that they thought that he could definitely be a potential suspect. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough evidence to charge him, and he died in prison in two thousand and eight at the age of fifty nine. I think it's important that we shall note that he was never cooperative in Bobby's case and never would say anything. So is he the person responsible? We really don't know. Bobby's family still holds out hope that he is out there and he is okay, and that he was abducted and doesn't even know who he is. Bobby's brother and sister have done their DNA panels with twenty three and me and are hopeful that maybe this will lead to something. They like I said, very much, try and hold out hope that they will get answers and that. Bobby is still alive. Both of Bobby's parents have passed away without knowing what happened to their son, which is sad and. Very very unfortunate. His sister, Laura Engel is quoted as saying, there are some days I really wonder, but I try to be hopeful that he has. A good life. Maybe someone just couldn't have their own kids and wanted a little boy. She then also talked about the age progress photos that they've released in Bobby's case and how she always keeps the new image of her brother in the back of her mind and is quoted as saying, we travel more now. You never know he could be anywhere. I like to hope he is still out there. He does have a good life, married kids. Maybe he's a grandpa who knows anything as possible. Bobby was last seen wearing a red, blue and gray shirt, dark blue pants, and brown cowboy boots. At the time of his disappearance, Bobby was five years old, four foot tall, and fifty pounds. He had blonde strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, and had a red birthmark on his outer left thigh just above his knee that was about the size of a package of cigarettes. Keep in mind that his birthmark may be larger now and may have faded a little bit. At the time of his disappearance, he had trouble pronouncing the letters T, K, and R. If you have any information regarding Bobby's disappearance, please call Fond de Luue County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant William Flood at nine two oh nine two nine three three nine oh and this is just another example of a case that is solvable. Somebody in that neighbor that day saw something. They might not have realized they saw something, but they saw something, and that could be the missing link in Bobby's case. That could give Bobby's family the closure that they so desperately need and want. Was he abducted, It is very likely. They never found any remains or a body in the river or anything like that, so Bobby is unaccounted for. So that means that he likely was abducted. And it was a different time back then. When you think back to nineteen eighty three, I wasn't even born yet, but going and playing a half a block away from your house in an empty field, playing kickball with your siblings is not something that was out of the ordinary. And his sister was so smart to walk him as far as she did. She was doing everything she could to keep her rather safe. And in between the amount of time that she had turned around to walk the other way and Bobby made it home, some bad person approached him and they were able to get in and out of the neighborhood without anyone seeing them. And that is why I say somebody out there knows something. This happened in the middle of the day in Wisconsin. There are several age progress photos of Bobby that I am going to be sharing on my Instagram and Facebook pages in the episode photo Carousel that I'm going to be doing for this mashup episode, And I think the age progress photos are so so important because in a case like this, where it likely was an abduction, Bobby could be living not even having any idea of his true identity, and anyone could run across him and not even realize that they are literally talking to somebody that is a missing person. All three of these cases deserve to have resolution, They deserve attention, and their families deserve justice for their family members. At the end of the. Day, all three of these episodes didn't really have a ton of information in order for me to make one episode about each case. But I really like doing this mashup style because you get to hear three different stories, three completely different people, different circumstances surrounding their disappearances. But all three need our help and need our attention. And in all three cases, somebody is holding that smoking gun, missing peace and they might not even know it. And for these decade long cold cases, exposure is key, and keeping the names out there, the faces out there, the age progress photos out there is what is going to help solve these cases. One person sharing it turns into more people sharing, it turns in to people coming forward with something that they might know and hopefully ends with a case being solved.
