Shawn O’Brien: Part 1

Let's talk right now in true crime, and then together we are going to work on warming up some cold cases. Let's go. Hey, guys, welcome back to Primetime Crime. It's Kylie. We are diving in to right now in true crime. On last week's episode, I talked about the two Kansas moms, Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelly, who had gone missing and they had made arrests in the case. They arrested four people, including the paternal grandmother of Veronica Butler's child, so it's like this whole custody battle. They did find the bodies on Sunday. As of right now, the cause of death is still pending. But the people that were arrested. It was Grandma Tiffany Adams, her boyfriend, and then two other people who are friends Ish I guess of Tiffany and Tad. So Tiffany and three of the other suspects are part of an anti government group called God's Misfits, and they had previously spoken about murdering Veronica Butler and they talked about plans of taking care of her. So none of this is going to bode well for them. I know that they have a lot of evidence against them, and it's only going to get worse. And these are people that honestly should know better, but they just don't. And it's really frustrating that two women, two innocent, truly innocent women in all of this lost their lives because it seems that it was kind of an ongoing dispute custody issues, and that's kind of what it always boils down to. And it's really sad and it's really unfortunate. Okay, moving on, we are now going to talk about Hannah Gutier's read. She is the armor from the Russ movie set who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. They sentenced her to eighteen months, which was the maximum sentence that she could get. She was very much pleading with the judge not to give her any more time, but the judge really threw the book at her. And I'm glad that the judge threw the book at her. I don't think she intentionally set out to harm anybody when she went to work that day. But if you're negligent, especially in something so important as making sure that there's no live AMMO in these guns that were used on set, that is a big whoops. And I'm sorry, but you have to pay for that. And I do feel like her being sentenced to eighteen months is going to really send a message to anyone that works on a movie set that you're not above the law and if you do harm to someone, it's gonna come back and get you, which is the way it should be. All Right, let's chat a little bit of Chad day Bill trial happenings. So this past week there has been a lot going on in trial. We saw a video of Chad detained in a police car during the searching of his property when they were looking for the children, of course, and he's talking to his daughter Emma, and it's a very odd conversation on Chad side, because he's like nervous, giggling the pretty much the whole time, and he talks about like I'm not going to be coming back, and you can have the house and you can have the mattress, like talking about the logistics of like Emma moving into the house, which she does like two to three days after the children are found on the property. It was just a really odd conversation. And another thing that was so interesting. Laurie is in jail at this point, and Chad says, I need you to send her money to her commissary so she can get the stuff that she needs. And this is my login information for the communication system to communicate with inmates and to send money. And Emma says, I already have my own log and I've been communicating with Laurie as well. So interesting that Emma was having these communications with Luri too. Now there is an old reddit thread that was posted on grief support on Reddit and this was posted by Emma and I'm going to read it and the title is exooming body without family Permission. My mother passed away October nineteenth, twenty nineteen. The coroner told this natural causes. It looked like the textbook definition of heart failure. The death was unexpected, and my family has taken it hard. My dad has already remarried. A friend of the family lost her husband earlier this year, and for whatever reason, she and my dad decided to tie the knot. It feels weird, but I already had a positive relationship with my new stepmom, and she has helped our family grieve. It's definitely a weird marriage. Both still talk of their former spouses frequently. My dad misses my mother terribly. A few neighbors, led by my aunt in our small town, have decided that since my dad remarried so quickly, he murdered my mother. This started out as a benign, though hurtfull rumor. It has escalated to the point, however, that they exhumed my mom's body for an autopsy. The family had no warning. We went to visit her grave and her body had been dug up. I don't know the results of the autopsy yet, but I feel extremely violated. I just want to grieve. I'm hurt that my aunt would cost so much trouble. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I feel so alone. So that was the post. Now, when they did exum Tammy, it happened very quickly. They exhumed her, they completed the autopsy, and she was back in place by the end of the day. And they, of course when they do, you know, they do exhoom somebody. They check to see if there's any tampering from like the casket. There was no evidence of any of that, But it boggles my mind to hear even to this day, as far as I know, Chad's kids still support him, to hear them kind of still support their dad. But at the end of the day, you really have to think this is who they were raised by and the amount of brainwashing, in my opinion, that has probably gone on for their entire lives. I'm not shocked that this is actually what's happening, like what's transpiring in front of us, that Chad is innocent and now kind of what the story that I have heard that they're telling is that you know, it was all LRI and Chad was just basically a pawn in all of this and he's not to blame, and that's very much the spin that they're trying to put on things at the trial. Now. I do have a confession, and I am not proud of this. I listen to Pretty Lies and Alibi's podcasts every single night, usually before I go to bed if the episodes are up, because it's trial updates. So I listened Tuesday night as I'm like getting ready to go to bed, I lay down, and usually after I lay down, I pretty much drift off to sleep right away. I usually put the timer on the podcast so it shuts off and then I'll end up having to go back and re listen. But anyways, I have the podcast on and they are playing audio. Gigi is playing the audio from Chad giving Alex his blessing, and Laurie's there. You can hear her like sobbing in the background, and it's like this long, at least it seems long to me, long drawn out monotone e or voice kind of blessing that Chad is giving Alex. And I found myself falling asleep to it, and I was like just about asleep when I realized, oh my god, I am actually falling asleep to Chad day Bill doing a prayer. What is wrong with me? And I immediately snapped out of it and was like wide awake, like, oh my god, I have to shut this off. I just have to go to bed. I have to shut it off and I have to go to bed. So that is my not so proud moment from the week, because I fell asleep to a Chad day Bill prayer session or blessing or whatever. Not my proudest moment, but I am who I am. Okay switching gears. We are going to talk a little Riley Strain. There have been a few things that have come out this past week. There have been interviews that his family did with Brian Enton, and one of the things is that Riley had texted with his mom and said one of his drinks tasted funny and I think it was a rum and coke and he said it tasted like barbecue, which is very interesting. The family has also been able to trace some of the other bars that Riley went to that night with his fraternity brothers, and they were able to do this through getting access to Riley's bank records. So he went to Miranda Lambert's bar, Garth Brooks's bar, Kid Rocks Bar, then Luke Bryan's bar. They're not exactly sure which bar he was at when he had the drink that he said tasted funny, but they do say that they know it was not at Luke Bryan's. So I'm telling you, I feel it in my bones. There's some sinister things that are going on on Broadway in Nashville, and I think it's so interesting that none of the other things have ever been recovered. His pants, his boots, his wallet, all of that is still missing. And they also his family has kind of alluded that they think somebody helped him into the water, because if he had fallen into the water would have had a lot more injuries to him, which could very well be true. Again, I guess we're still waiting on toxicology reports to come back, but I don't think that when it comes back that there's going to be nothing in his system. I think there's going to be some type of substance in his system, and I don't think that Riley ingested it knowingly and willingly. So it's going to be really interesting to see what happens. It doesn't seem that Nashville police are treating it as anything other than an accident, so it's going to be really interesting to see what comes out in the next few weeks regarding this case. Okay, last thing I want to talk about, Promise, Promise, Promise. I have previously talked on here about Leo's schofield. I didn't do an end up story on him, but I talked about him in my Crime Con episode. He is in prison for the murder of his wife, and he's been up for parol many a times. There is another person who has confessed and it was linked with DNA evidence that this person is the one that killed Leo's wife, Michelle. Leo has been in prison for the murder of his wife for thirty seven years, and even though they have forensics, DNA and a confession from the real killer, Leo has remained behind bars all of this time and they have not exonerated him, and every time a parole hearing comes up, he gets denied. Well, today, freaking finally, after thirty seven years, he was granted parole. We celebrate, we're happy, we're excited. But Leo is an innocent man and the fact that he is even still considered to be a murderer and he's on parole is just crazy. All of his charges need to be exonerated and it's just insane. Gil King did a fantastic, fantastic, fantastic podcast on this whole story. It's called Bone Valley. If you haven't listened to it, I highly suggest you listen to it. I did think about doing a episode on Leo, and I still might. For my Innocent, You, Wrongful Convicted series, I still might do an episode on him, because he has been incarcerated for pretty much his whole adult life for something that he didn't do, and even with the confession of the real killer, nothing has changed. But he was granted parole. He's going to be released at the end of the month and we are going to celebrate that. But the fight still continues to get him fully exonerated, because that is what he deserves. But man, I was holding my breath for today. I didn't know what was going to happen because previously the parole board has denied him parole. But I think given the fact that this podcast Bone Valley has become so popular and there's so much around Leo's case and how he's been wrongfully convicted, I feel like that really played in his favor. And that is the power of podcasting and the power of telling someone's story and getting the word out. It takes one person to tell a story and another person to listen, and before you know it, you have a massive people who are coming around to try to make sure that justice is done. I've honestly seen this in the Kayalana Turner story. When I first interviewed and spoke with her mother Rosa. I think I was the second podcast to do her story. There was no news coverage whatsoever about Kayalana and her story, and it's kind of blown up. And for me, it's kind of blown up like the last couple of months because I'm seeing it more and more people are talking about it. I have connected with some other podcasters in completely different states over Kalana's case, and it really just goes to show you that there is power in podcasting and we have this space to make a difference and get the word out, and it's just really cool to see it all come kind of full circle. And we do it for the right reasons. We do it to get the word out. We do it to get their face out. We do it to reach out to as many people as we can so maybe one of those people knows something that is going to help bring one of these missing persons home or solve an unsolved crime. That is why we do what we do, and I definitely am so grateful that you guys have given me the platform to do so. You don't have to turn on this podcast and listen to me every week, but I know there are those of you that do every single week and I very very much appreciate each and every one of you for letting me have a voice and helping me spread the message. It's not just about me. It's about all of the people that I talk about on a weekly basis and all of these cases that we so desperately need to push out to the masses so they can be solved. So thank you so so much for that. And with all of that being said, we are going to go ahead and get started with today's episode. Don't Hate Me, But it's a two parter, and once I get into the nitty gritty of it all, you will understand why it's a two parter because there is a lot of information to cover. But we are going to go ahead and get started with today's episode. Okay, guys, today we are jumping in to the unsolved homicide of a man named Sean O'Brien. His death occurred on a Tuesday, July twenty fifth of two thousand and six, and he was thirty four years old at the time of his death. So we are going to talk a little bit about some of the circumstances leading up to his death and a little bit about his background of course, and why his story is still so prevalent today. And I think that's such an important piece of this because all of these stories for them to be out there, they're out there because the usually the family or somebody who's really close to the person or the case is trying to keep the name of this person out there. And in this case, it is Sean's daughter who is one of the key players in keeping the story out there. And as I tell you more about her and their relationship and the fact that she was so young when Sean was taken, it's going to really play a big role in the story today and what's going on with the story present day. All right, let's get started. Sean Patrick O'Brien was born on December fifth of nineteen seventy one in Rhode Island. He primarily grew up in Providence, Rhode Island. He decided that in eighth grade he wanted to drop out of school and he wanted to start working. He was kind of one of those kids not really into the school part of it, but really wanted to work. Sean is described as a loving, caring, quick witted and we hear it all the time, but Sean also was described as the kind of person that would literally give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it more than he did. Just that kind of person. So in nineteen ninety two, Sean was dating a woman named Amy and they got pregnant and had their daughter, Natalia, in nineteen ninety two. Sean was only twenty one years old, and Amy and Sean ended up splitting up when Natalia was only two years old. So her memories of her father from birth to two, she doesn't really have a whole lot of those. So they ended up breaking up, and Amy said that the whole reason that they broke up was Sean unfortunately battled some demons and was using drug rugs and excessively drinking, and Amy just said that she wanted better for herself and she wanted better for her daughter. But despite this, they did remain close and they remained friends. Amy is quoted as saying, despite that, we had many good times together as a family. He was the person that everybody came to when you needed something. He would literally give you the shirt off of his back and was generous to a fault with friends and family. He called me every day before work at six am, except the day he didn't. So despite them having their issues and you know, Sean having to battle his demons as well. They still remained very close, but due to the fact that Sean battled with different addiction issues, he was very much not a present figure in his daughter's life. So Natalia ended up not officially like having a relationship with her dad until she was nine years old, and then just four short years later he would be gone, and she is the one who is propelling the story forward still to this day to keep her father's name out there and figure out what happened to him. Natalia says she has some of the most like visceral memories of her dad, even though they really only had this close bond and relationship for four years. She has nothing but the best of the best memories, and she said looking back that she knew that her dad was fighting against a lot of different demons and he was fighting an uphill battle, but she saw that he was really trying to be there for her and to be a good dad, and thought that, you know, the future was going to be looking bright because he was at least making an effort. And despite not having been in her life, they had such a super close bond, which I think is really cool to hear that. Natalia also said that her dad he struggled in a lot of ways. He had some d wuys, he got in trouble for fighting. He also had a drug possession charge for cocaine. But for whatever reason, all of these things that happened, he always just kind of ended up. And I don't want this to sound bad, but he always kind of ended up getting away with it, which, unfortunately, when there's no repercussions for your actions, you're just going to keep doing it again and again and again until you realize that you're at rock bottom and you need to get out of it. But he never really had that rock bottom because things just kind of kept happening where he would avoid getting in trouble for things, which I think is interesting when you think about, Unfortunately, we're dealing with him being murdered allegedly and what kind of happened leading up to that that led to someone deciding that they need to take his life for whatever reason. So I do believe that in two thousand and six, when Sean lost his life, it did appear that he and Amy were back together. They weren't living together at the time. Amy was living at a home with Italia, and then Sean was living at a duplex, and he was living at this duplex with this roommate named Armand, and this Armand guy had a girlfriend who was named Lynn. I'm gonna refer to them a few times here and there. So we are on July twenty first of two thousand and six. So here's kind of what happened that day. Sean was working. He ended up coming home from work around three o'clock and it was Friday, so it was pay day, which we love a good payday. He had called Amy on his way home and he had just told Amy he was hungry, and Amy offered to go pick him up a sandwich from one of his favorite local sandwich shops. So Amy and Italia went and did that, and they ended up driving to his duplex and Sean met them in the parking lot outside they dropped off the sandwich. Sean also gave Amy one hundred and sixty dollars to help with Amy's costs and Italia's costs. He was trying to do the right thing and pay for his daughter. And they did kind of briefly talk about going to a church festival that the town was putting on, So they kind of briefly talked about that, and Amy and Amy and Italia went ahead and left and they went to go pick up Sean's three year old niece. Sean went inside ate his sandwich, and he wanted to take a shower before they headed out to this festival. So they ended up getting back over to Shawn's house about six forty five, and they did notice that Armand and his girlfriend's cars were both in the parking lot, so they just kind of noticed that it wasn't anything that really was a big deal necessarily, And then Sean ended up coming out and Natalia hadn't been feeling well. She kind of had like this ongoing headache. So Amy said we're just going to skip tonight and I'm going to take Natalia home so she can rest. And Sean was fine with this. He said we can go to the festival tomorrow, but he didn't want to stay home. There had been like ongoing conflict between him and Armand, so I guess Armand is technically the landlord, and there had been some type of altercation between Sean and Armand and Lynn, and I guess at one point Lynn had threatened Sean so he didn't want to be in the home. Tensions were high. He just wasn't feeling the vibe, so he didn't want to be there, so he asked Amy if she would drop him off at a local bar. It was called Bill's Frosted Mug, and Sean was trying to be sober and he hadn't drunk in a while, so he told Amy, I'm not going to drink. I just want to go and kind of like hang out a little bit, get away from the apartment, and he said that he really just wanted to go and play some keno, and the bar was only about a half a mile away from where Sean lived. Amy dropped him off at the bar, but before he actually left to go into the bar, he had called his sister Aaron to see if she wanted to join him there, and he did not get an answer, so he ended up just going into the bar by himself. And that was about seven o'clock in the evening, and he said he wasn't going to stay really late because he had to work the next day and he took his job seriously. So the next morning, July twenty second, arrives and Sean does not show up for work. He is supposed to be there between seven and eight am, and he never comes, which was unlike him. He was usually very reliable, usually very prompt. Now, typically Sean was really good about calling Amy every morning. They would just have like this routine where he would call her at six o'clock in the morning, between six and six thirty. So Amy was a little bit concerned when she didn't get that phone call from Shawn that morning, but again, you rationalize it, like he was out late, probably playing Keno, he had to get up early for work. Like it's really easy to rationalize something like that, it really is. And they had made plans that they were going to try again to go to the festival that night. So they were just basically Amy and Italia were basically just waiting to hear from Sean. Amy worked that morning as well, so she was busy at work, and by the afternoon time they hadn't heard anything from Sean. So in the afternoon, Sean's sister, who is named Karen, this is another sister, goes by the duplex to talk to Sean and when she gets there she finds Sean unresponsive on the floor. So he was in the basement of the apartment. He was laying face down on the floor and there was a pool of blood and spit under his head. He only had his boxers on. She immediately calls nine to one one and she is hysterical yelling her brother's name, trying to get him to wake up. Now, Sean did have a history of having seizure, so immediately that's what Karen thought. This was that he had had a seizure and had been maybe in the seizure for a while, and that's why he was unconscious and there was blood because he had been hitting his head. Again. It is really easy to rationalize something when you know that they have a history of seizures. You don't ever expect to walk in and find somebody that you love unconscious and struggling to breathe, and you don't automatically think, oh, something terrible has happened, someone has harmed them. You think you rationalize it, because that's what we do as humans. We rationalize all day long. So the interesting thing about this is when Karen arrived armand kind of greeted her outside and was like, Hey, you've got to get in here because Sean's been having a seizure. For an hour. First of all, if you are in the vicinity of someone who's having a seizure, you immediately should probably call nine to one one, especially if you have zero medical training. You don't just let them go through the motions of that for a whole hour before you decide to do something. So when the emergency responders arrived, everyone is of course gathering trying to figure out what's going on. Armand met them and directed them down to the base which is where Sean lived. He had the room that was in the basement, and they found him unconscious. However, he was breathing, he was laying face down, and he was also snoring, which is an interesting fact. And he was very clammy. He was sweaty and armand just kept saying that he did not know what was going on. And he said, I haven't seen him for the last hour, and he thought that he was watching a baseball game, which is interesting because he's already contradicting himself because he told Karen, Sean's been seizing for an hour. I'm confused, armand I'm confused. So once the first responders got there and they're tending to him, they realized that his airway is partially obstructed, so they take the measures to take care of that. His jaw was very very tightly clenched that they couldn't even open his mouth enough to try to figure out the best way to clear that obstruction. They did find a small amount of vomit, and they noticed that it was kind of mixed with a little bit of blood as well, and they could tell that he had urinated on himself just due to the smell of urine, and that is common with people when they seize, they will often lose control over the bladders. They also noticed that there was some dried blood between Shawn's toes, which should really not even have anything to do with him seizing. There's not really any correlation between that, and that just really didn't make a whole lot of sense. The sheets of the bed that was Sean's bed were pretty much all the way off of the bed and there was some large red stains on the mattress and one of them was like fifteen inches of diameter, which is quite large for a blood stain, especially from a seizure. That really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Now, one of the team members from the ambulance had been to the house before because of the different episodes that Sewn had had with seizures, so they were kind of familiar. They ended up transporting Sean to a local hospital and law enforcement came in to kind of do their due diligence and try to figure out what exactly was going on. So they interviewed Sean's nephew who was actually with Karen, so Karen's son, Shawn's nephew, and Armand of course because Armand is the roommate and was there. So they asked both of them about, you know, Sean, what was kind of going on, and they both alluded to Sean having a history of, you know, using drugs and alcohol and that that had kind of caused him to have this different seizure activity over the years. And they were questioning neighbors to see if they had heard anything, and nobody really had anything thing that they could offer that would kind of tie up some of these loose ends of the last few hours of what had happened with Sean. So Sewan arrived to the hospital and they immediately start to do imaging and they noticed that Sean has some pulling of blood in his brain and that is going to be caused by blunt force trauma. So this was some pretty significant impact that his head took, not consistent with falling forwards or backwards like you would do in a seizure. It just didn't really add up that this was like all from a seizure type of activity. They ended up running toxicology on Sean, and they also prepared for emergency brain surgery that they had to do to try to save his life. They needed to do a craniotomy to try to help relieve some of the pressure that was happening inside of Sean's head. The toxicology report came back and it was positive for cocaine, opiate and barbituates, which was really upsetting to the family. Of course, was upset by this news because of course he was trying to get his life together and unfortunately, as it is with addicts and recovery, the recovery isn't always linear and sometimes they veer off the path. So the next morning, some of the hospital people Shana's stable, but his brain has been damaged a lot. His vitals are stable, but there is a lot of brain damage that has happened with everything that has gone on in the last twenty four hours. So the next morning, Amy is there by his side and she starts to notice that he has like some really unusual cuts and bruises, like all over his body and not stuff that is super consistent with susure activity. He had areas on his knuckles, on his nose, on his forehead, on his chest, the cuts between his toes. All of that just kind of seemed interesting to Amy and it didn't really make sense to her, and she felt like maybe somebody had hit him, he had fallen down, someone dragged him somewhere, because he had some rugburn. He also had part of a tooth that was missing. So Amy talked to a nurse and the nurse basically said, there's no way that these injuries are consistent with him falling. Somebody had to have hit him. They of course had the CT scan that indicated that there was head trauma, and even the neurosurgeon had mentioned something about like what happened, Like what exactly happened? Here? Was he in a fight? And all of this is going on and Natalia is hearing all of it, and instantly she's suspicious, like she thinks that something major has gone on the neurosurgeon also said that he wasn't entirely sure that the wounds didn't happen earlier than Saturday night. He thought they potentially could have happened on Friday night, just because of the way that they looked in their appearance. So Erin, Sean's sister, was really concerned about what was going on, trying to figure out on her own kind of what happened, like law enforcement wasn't really alerted to the fact that this could have been something more than just a seizure gone wrong. So with everything that was kind of developing, Erin went back to the duplex to talk to Armand and figure out what was going on. Armand had said that Sean was dropped off on Friday and said that you know, Armand said, I worked on Saturday, and I thought Sean had gone to work too, And Armand said when he got home, he went to do some laundry and he saw that Sean was lying on the floor, and then an hour later he checked on him. And then around that time is when the other sister, Karen, had arrived, And then he also had told Aarin that there was some money lying on like one of Sean's tables and that Armand said he took it, which why would you take the money? So he said he took the money, and Karen asked for it back, and he went eventually and gave it to her. But Armand is moving in a really weird way. So that evening, Aaron and a lawyer that was a family friend called the police department and was kind of telling them, like, we think that this is something more than just an accident. We think that this could have been some type of criminal situation. And they wanted his apartment to be treated as such, the basement apartment. They wanted it to be treated as a crime scene because at this point it wasn't considered one. It was just where Sean had collapsed and that was it. Later the next day, the hospital staff told Shawn's family that he was not expected to make it. He was being kept alive by these different life support measures and that they needed to make a decision, which they did. They made the decision that they were going to disconnect the life saving measures from Sean, and then on July twenty fifth of two thousand and six, at one twenty four pm, he officially passed away. The medical examiner did claim Shawn's body in order to do an autopsy, which the family was happy about because they felt like maybe now they would get some answers because there had been a lot of hospital staff that even themselves thought something is suspicious here. We don't think that he just had a seizure and fell. We feel like something more has happened, But no one else was really looking at it from that standpoint, so it was really just the family, some of the people at the hospital, and that was it. So they were hoping that with this medical examiner taking claim of Sean's body, that they would be able to figure out what happened to him and what caused him ultimately to pass away. So Amy and Aaron later that day decided to go by the Frosted Mug bar, which was the last place that we knew of Sean to have visited, and they had a beer in his honor, and then they kind of were talking to the people that worked there to see if they remembered Sean coming in, and they did, but they didn't really recall what time he had left, which I think is an important thing. So then they left the bar from there and went to the Duplex and armand was there and came outside and they told him, you know, Sean passed away, and Amy started to kind of question him, like what did you see? Was anyone with him? What time did he get home? Going on and on and on, and Armand was pretty defensive. He was telling Amy like, you're the one that dropped him off, kind of insinuating like whatever happened, you should know you're the one that dropped him off. Rude, just rude, and just kind of all over the place with all of the way that he was responding. And you know, body language is a huge thing, and Amy said that he was very nervous. He was not able to maintain eye contact with her. And she had also noticed that he had had some cuts on his face and he had a band aid on his finger, which is very interesting. And Armand's dog is a Golden Retriever and the dog is named Floyd. And she also noticed that Floyd had a patch on his tail that looked like it had been shaved, so that essentially looked like it was missing. So that's interesting. We're going to talk more about Floyd. So previously, if Sean had had a seizure, Floyd was protective of him, even though that wasn't his dog, he was still protective of him and he would just sit by Sean and bark if he was having a seizure until somebody came over to assist. And there were times that Shawn's family would come over and they would knock on the basement window and Floyd would bark. Floyd was just very prevalent. He was a good guard dog. It seemed like he was very alert to Seawn's medical issues with his seizures. So if Sean was seizing for a whole hour that night, Floyd probably would have been barking to some degree to where you think that somebody would have been alerted to what was going on, especially the neighbors because where they lived, they said that the walls were extremely thin and a lot of the neighbors were always able to hear everything and vice versa, So you would think that somebody would have heard Floyd barking if this had been going on for a whole hour. At least, that's what Armand is saying. Amy and Aaron go ahead and they tell Armand that they want to go down into the basement bedroom of the duplex where Sean lived to just get a couple things and said, you know, we're going to be back eventually to clean out his stuff, but we just want to pick up a couple things. Sean just passed away, so they are still like reeling from the death of him and kind of just going through the motions. So they enter the basement bedroom where Sean lived and they notice that there's blood stains in several places. They see blood stains on the carpet near the door, there's blood on the door, There's more blood on some wood paneling. There was a bloody bald up sheet, there was a body pillow that had blood on it, and then there was the three stains of blood that were on the mattress. Now, Sean was found on the floor, so that's a really important tidbit of information here. He wasn't found on the bed. And then there was also a white T shirt that had some blood stains on it and that almost looked like it was used as kind of like a rag to wipe stuff up. There was also some spots on some of the furniture. Interestingly enough, the shorts that Sean had worn Friday night didn't really look like they had been touched at all. His id was still in his pocket, and they were over kind of by where his sneakers were. His belt, and his hammer holder that you know construction people use was a left on the kitchen table, which is normally where he would put it if he were preparing to go to work. So we have this question of did Sean even get to go to work on Saturday morning. We really don't know the answer to this. Also, they when they got to the duplex initially and they found Sean, he was only in his boxer shorts, which Amy said he would sleep in his boxers, but he never would just like casually walk around on a Saturday evening in his boxers. So she had thought that whatever happened happened to Sean while he was in the midst of sleeping, and just going through this case and looking at all these details, it seems like this is kind of lining up to something happening to Sean Friday night into Saturday morning. So they also noticed that a few things were missing. There was a brass lamp that was gone, and his hammer was gone, an alarm clock was gone, and a dumbbell set was gone, which why would you take any of those things? But I digress and They also found a piece of paper and it had Armand and his nephew's phone numbers on it. His nephew is named John, and it also had Lynn, Armand's girlfriend's best friend's number on it, which is interesting. John ended up showing up to the house. This is Armand's nephew, and once they told him what happened to Sean, the first thing he said was, my uncle didn't have any problems with him, Like they didn't have any issues. So that's the first thing you say to somebody who just lost a family member. I don't know, it just seems like Armand we haven't even gotten Aln yet. That's a whole other can of worms. But armand John they're just kind of moving in a really weird way. And Amy and Aaron are trying to figure out why was the dog's tail shaved? Why did they why was Floyd's tail shaved? And they thought, again, they're trying to figure out in their head what's going on. Well, maybe Floyd went down to the basement apartment because Sean was seizing. I'm not denying Sean was seizing. Sean seized at some point during whatever the heck happened, But there was also blood and other things involved and a head injury. So something major happened in that basement apartment. So Floyd goes down there because he senses that Sean is seizing, and in the midst of him being down there, ends up getting blood on his tail, and Armand and Lynn know that they need to act fast, and they just go ahead and shave the tail part of the tail. It wasn't the whole tale, it was just like a portion of the tail. So they shaved the tail to hide the blood evidence. But they don't worry about the crazy amount of blood evidence that was left behind in his apartment because to typically people that do things like this think that they're super smart and that they're covering all their bases and they don't. Okay, guys, as much as I hate to do this, we are going to make this one a two parter because I still have a lot to go into. We still have to go through everything with Lynn and Armand because they are a huge part of the story and their history is a huge part of the story and it's very very important. So we are making this a two parter. I haven't had a two parter in a minute, So you will have to forgive me. I kind of like a two parter personally, but I know a lot of people don't. But trust you will want to come back for part two because it's going to be very interesting and you only have to wait like two days for it because it'll be out on Sunday night, Monday morning.
